Inez Froehlich - abstract artist, and the story of the artwork for the 2026 Will Echo album ‘PASSION’ .

One of the wonderful things about creating artistic pieces, in whatever field, is the amazing people you meet along the way.  Whether the creation is musical, or one of the more traditional art forms, all creatives blend, draw inspiration from, and compliment each other.

A piece of music can be more poignant with a visual focus, and the imagery in a movie can be flat without a musical score to push and pull at human emotions.

Along my musical journey I have had the pleasure of working with many brilliant such creatives, both musical and artistic…and after all, what is an album or single without a cover artwork that communicates the musical idea?  Great albums are know by their album artwork - no further introduction needed.

So, for my forthcoming 2026 album PASSION, and for all the singles from the album, it has been my absolute pleasure to work with one such talented artist who was kind enough to paint the image that resonates so well with me.  The artist is super talented Inez Froehlich, an abstract artist from Germany, who specialises in large-format textured artworks.

The image that you see on the singles and album ‘PASSION’ is the wonderful 2025 painting by Inez called ‘True Passion’.  This works so well with the album's content, as each so is seeped in passionate lyrics and performances - observations of love and life and human passion!

The original artwork is 100 x 120 cms, and the fascination of this painting lies in the detail. Structures, cracks, scratches, several layers of paint and a matte finish conserve the beauty of the transient on canvas.

I absolutely love the fact that the more you look the more you see; the closer you look the more interests you.  I got lost in all the cracks and scratches and zoning in on areas… I see story after story. Each area stands out on its own, and I'm forever seeing new beauty every day.  I have always loved textures in art form, from my first album artwork ‘Fragile’ it is a concept that has stuck with me, and I will be forever grateful to Inez for contributing to the album ‘PASSION’ in such a meaningful and impactful way.

More about Inez:

Inez was born in Reichenbach in the Vogtland region and grew up in a family with an affinity for art, which laid the foundation for her later creative work quite early.

She began her artistic career in 2003, after graduating from the Technical University of Chemnitz and initially working in the private sector.

While painting and photography were the counterbalance to her rather technically oriented professional career during these years, she took the plunge into the free artist life in 2003 and ambitiously exchanged the desk for the easel.

Regional exhibitions and the intensive exchange of experience with other artists gave her the necessary orientation at the beginning and, between praise and criticism, left her enough room to try out different styles, to learn how to handle a wide variety of materials and painting techniques, and to define her own distinctive style from this wealth of experience.

Along the way, the major international digital art platforms opened up access to a broad audience for her, and today many of her works can be found among art lovers and collectors in almost every part of the world.

The creative competition with the contemporary artists represented there is a driving force to constantly redefine her own artistic goals.

Her work

Today, in her studio she primarily produces abstract, large-format and textured paintings in acrylic.

The focus in all works is on creating a tension between color and texture, between seeing and feeling, between emergence and decay.

Inspiration for this are natural surfaces and structures, but also walls, walls, floors, fences, roads and paths, forgotten objects, lost places that show the traces of time and that in their transience remind us of the beauty of the moment.

Details to be discovered, the coherent and the disjointed, the perfect in the imperfect, this is found in her detailed and multi-layered works, offering the viewer a body of work that can be reinterpreted again and again.

Impression and expression, spontaneity and permanence, experiment and experience, plus canvases, brushes, palette knives, impasto paints, glazes, ink, chalk, marble powder, sand, fabric - these are all the ingredients from which she creates distinctive and atmospheric images by applying layers of paint, working on them, blurring them, watering them down and creating new ones again. In the versatile process of creation lies at the same time the unpredictable outcome of the work.
