It has been announced that Morrissey has cancelled an entire tour due to exhaustion. And although he has a history of stopping shows for many reasons ranging from bad weather to death threats, I can sympathise with my songwriting hero.
Creating and performing music is a draining business, especially when the affects of traveling to distant lands is thrown in.
I may be a little too sympathetic to the Manchester musical majesty, as the opening riff to ‘What Difference Does it Make’ still brings goosebumps to my neck to this day.
Hatful of Hollow is up there with my all time favourite albums, it is one of those discs that I never tire of and can enjoy over and over again! “Reel around the fountain, trap me on the patio” “I would go out tonight, but I haven't got a stitch to wear”… oh guitar heaven glory days!

But Morrissey's announcement does come as a serious reminder that actually, modern life is hectic, crazy and will drain you of all your beauty and energy sauce if you let it. Especially if you burn the candle both ends with a day job and a passion that pushes you to the edge.
Whatever life throws at you, make sure you make ‘empty’ time for yourself; step back from the heady buzz and take 10 minutes to regain a clear perspective. Grab a coffee, put your feet up clear your mind, breathe and step back into this one moment of now - the only moment you will ever have. Forget the future, forget the past and just be absorbed in the peaceful moment of now.
And maybe play a song while you unwind, something like “ME TIME!”
So, take a 10 minutes ME TIME today; step into the moment of now, breathe and play ‘ME TIME’ by Will Echo. Better still, add it to your relaxing playlist, and star it as your favourite so you always know where it is to play and take you away from the hustle and bustle of modern life.
Please look after yourself whether you are on tour in distant lands or putting in a shift at the local supermarket.
